I deeply apologize for taking so long since the last time I blogged, it's just something hadn't been used to doing in this way. Now, since I've lost my full time job with the state government, (due to trying to care of myself, my mom, son and fiancé), I think I need to delve a little deeper into baking, after all, it's what I love most to do. Things had to slow down a bit with our business unfortunately after my fiance (and business partner) injured his leg, having to have 2 surgeries since May, and he's just now up and walking on his own. I'm not going to go backwards, even though the last few months have been great with different cakes and cookies I've was able to do and experiments, I will start here and now. Since it's been a while I can at least catch everyone up to date with our progress, so first, make sure you look through the specialty cake photos on our site and see what we've done thus far, and also our Facebook page but there will be a lot more going on now. We finally have a much bigger visual advertisement....and we are extremely excited about it...make sure to look for our truck when we are out and about!! We might even have something FREE on hand!!
My most recent recipe that I'm going to be experimenting this week with is bananas. I've noticed that it's the one thing that is lacking on our menu, we don't make a lot of things with bananas. Several weeks ago, I just so happened to have made this absolutely wonderful banana cake, not banana bread, which is great too, but banana bread is well...bread like, which was not what I was looking for. So I made a banana cake using buttermilk and more sugar and other flavors to create this new sweet, moist banana cake recipe that tastes GREAT with cream cheese icing, I'm looking to create maybe two different types of cupcake from this. I'll try to post some pictures when I'm done. Our ultimate plan is to take the cupcakes we currently do, and step them up. They already taste great, but...we can always make them better!!
